About Trevor Wilson

Trevor Wilson, a singer-songwriter from Jackson, Tennessee, grew up with music stitched into every corner of his life. Born in Memphis, Tennessee in August 2002, he was raised between two very different church traditions. He led hymns at his mother’s Church of Christ, while also harmonizing with his father’s family in a southern gospel–rooted congregation that mixed Assembly of God, Southern Baptist, and Pentecostal influences. Combined with his grandmother’s love of 50s and 60s blues, his mom’s taste for classic rock and old-school country, and his dad’s gospel roots, Trevor tasted a wide-reaching musical palette growing up that continues to shape his artistry today.

Trevor wrote his first song at just nine years old: a laughably bad tune called “Haha LOL.” Though his cousins literally laughed in his face, he was hooked, realizing that even in the worst beginnings, there was power in expression. Over time, especially during the pandemic and his early college years, songwriting became his lifeline. His debut EP, Changes – Extended Play (July 2024), captured the raw grief, resilience, and self-discovery of that period. The first single, “Changes,” included the line: “In the dark of night you’ll find a star that leads you home”—a lyric that still defines his outlook.

Though music has always been the dream, Trevor spent much of his life preparing for a different path. By day, he works as a paralegal, a career he started at age 15. He once assumed law school was next. However, life didn’t deal him the hand he wanted. What felt like disappointment quickly turned into clarity: it was time to give music his full attention. His 2025 single, “Rockstar Mama,” became a declaration of that turning point, blending bluesy grit with rock swagger and affirming his commitment to the craft.

Musically, Trevor blends classic rock’s edge, Memphis blues soul, old-school punk energy, and modern pop vulnerability. His inspirations range from Taylor Swift to Billy Joel, Chris Stapleton to Elvis, and Adele to Noah Kahn. And he’s never forgotten the southern gospel harmonies of his childhood. He describes himself as a “genre hodgepodge” artist who leans into honesty, even when it’s messy. For Trevor, “making it” doesn’t just mean success on paper, it means writing songs that speak truth, telling stories that matter, and creating community with fans who see themselves in his lyrics.

Alongside his releases, Trevor’s career highlights include placing second in the Jackson Qualifying Round of Tennessee Songwriters Week 2024 with his song “Not Catching It,” which earned him a performance at Memphis’s iconic Lafayette’s Music Room. He records his music with producer Josh Bright in Boaz, Alabama, and collaborates closely with writers like Hope MacGregor, Jonathan Greer, Aaron Pulvermacher, and Brooke Cagle. He also serves on the board of the newly founded Jackson Society of Songwriters, helping nurture local talent through monthly Write Nights.

Outside of music, Trevor is unapologetically curious and creative. He’s a dedicated Swiftie (his Eras Tour Nashville Night 3 rain show is a badge of honor); a self-proclaimed architecture nerd who keeps strong opinions about skyscrapers like New York’s infamous 432 Park Avenue; and someone who compulsively tracks life’s irritations in a Notes app list that now spans over 135 bullet points. He dreams not only of touring and releasing more music, but also of writing a book and directing a music video one day.

On social media, Trevor has found a knack for connecting with audiences. Between his two TikTok accounts, he’s amassed nearly 8 million views from January to September 2025, building a following of 8,500+ on his main account (@realtrevorwilson) while using his second account to test raw, unfiltered ideas.

At his core, Trevor Wilson writes for the same reason he listens: to survive, to connect, and to create home. For him, home isn’t a place—it’s a song, a community, and a truth that reminds us that even in brokenness, beauty exists, and no one is ever truly alone.
